The JoLyn Beeman Memorial Lecture Series is in honor and memory JoyLyn Beeman. JoLyn Beeman left a legacy of service, education, and activity for all to follow.
JoLyn Beeman:
- Traveled extensively and taught on every continent in the world.
- Received her bachelor and master of science in education degrees from UW-Whitewater.
- Certified in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
- Worked with Portage project (1978-1980) as a UW-Whitewater graduate assistant.
- Worked with Project Progress (1979-1980) as a UW-Whitewater Assistant.
- Taught ECSE in Janesville (1980-88)
- Program Support Teacher in Janesville Public School (from 1988- until her death).
JoLyn's Awards:
- Wisconsin Division of Early Childhood Teacher of the Year (1983)
- Rock county Association of Retarded Citizens Outstanding Teacher (1985)
- American Association of University Women- Early Childhood Educator (1991)
- Janesville YWCA Peace Award (1997)
