he JoLyn Beeman Memorial Lecture Series is in honor and memory JoyLyn Beeman. JoLyn Beeman left a legacy of service, education, and activity for all to follow.

JoLyn Beeman:
  • Traveled extensively and taught on every continent in the world.
  • Received her bachelor and master of science in education degrees from UW-Whitewater.
  • Certified in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
  • Worked with Portage project (1978-1980) as a UW-Whitewater graduate assistant.
  • Worked with Project Progress (1979-1980) as a UW-Whitewater Assistant.
  • Taught ECSE in Janesville (1980-88)
  • Program Support Teacher in Janesville Public School (from 1988- until her death).

 

JoLyn's Awards:
  • Wisconsin Division of Early Childhood Teacher of the Year (1983)
  • Rock county Association of Retarded Citizens Outstanding Teacher (1985)
  • American Association of University Women- Early Childhood Educator (1991)
  • Janesville YWCA Peace Award (1997)
